MU School of Music

Mizzou Music this week featured interviews with a trio of MU educators who discussed everything from to the pleasures of a brass choir, footwear for recitals and sharing the classics internationally.

MU classical guitar faculty member Anthony Glise is headed back to France to play at summer festivals. He will share the experience with members of his guitar studio at MU. He went over the itinerary and the required footwear on a recent episode of Mizzou Music.

Since 1969, The Esterhazy Quartet has been the official string quartet-in-residence at the MU School of Music. Violinist Eva Szekely was a guest on Mizzou Music in advance of the chamber group's late winter recital and Brazilian tour.

Trevor serves as KBIA’s weekday morning host for classical music. He has been involved with local radio since 1990, when he began volunteering as a music and news programmer at KOPN, Columbia's community radio station. Before joining KBIA, Trevor studied social work at Mizzou and earned a masters degree in geography at the University of Alabama. He has worked in community development and in urban and bicycle/pedestrian planning, and recently served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia with his wife, Lisa Groshong. An avid bicycle commuter and jazz fan, Trevor has cycled as far as Colorado and pawed through record bins in three continents.
